LUSSIM is a cattle stud farm specialising in breeding top quality Simmentaler cattle with exceptional reproductive potential.
Cattle are permanently maintained on sweetveld. Genetic improvement of the herd overall with a focus on reproduction is the main aim of the stud. The vision is to produce genetically superior, easy care and highly efficient and reproductive Simmentaler cattle for the Southern African market.
The cattle graze on the harshest hartwater veld under extreme environmental conditions in an overall dry climate to ensure a hardy strain suitable to such conditions. Read more

Farm News
New calves are mostly from two prize sires.
Congratulations to Mr PP Wolmarans who purchased a prize young bull. The mother of this bull was used extensively in an embryo programme at Lussim. The young embryo calves were weaned in April and are growing rapidly. Two young embryo bulls are participating in an annual growth test by the Prosim study group.
Approaches have been made to have the farm certified free of Brucellosis.
Congratulations to those farmers in Botswana who purchased top bulls and various quality females. The bulls adapted quickly and easily in their new environment.
